Janice Moorhead is a graduate of the University of Ottawa’s Visual Arts program. She lives and maintains a studio practice near Alcove, Quebec.
All works are acrylic paint on wood panel. Some include ink transfers.

“I have been a practicing artist for over 35 years. Although well known across Canada for my glass art, in recent years I’ve chosen to pursue painting – a much freer form of expression.

My current series of paintings which I refer to as Narratives, transport the viewer into a world of interpretation. Shadows, paint drippings, textures and ‘happy accidents’ all play a role, transforming the mundane into works that are at once idiosyncratic and unsettling. Perspective and the movement of the figure through space, along with colour, Add an emotional component.”
